Home › Practice sale analyser
Load your client list and answer a few questions about the firm. You get an analysis of the list, the changes that would add most to what a buyer pays, and a handover plan timed to when you want to sell. Your browser does the analysis and the list stays on your computer.
Export it as a CSV file from the software or spreadsheet you keep client records in, or copy the cells and paste them in. The only column it needs is each client's annual fee. Client type, services, the year they joined, year end, who looks after them and the date of their last fee rise all add to the analysis.
These cover what a client list cannot show. Every answer changes the result straight away.
Ranked by their effect on what a buyer would pay, each worked out from your own figures.
These decide how much of the price is paid on completion, how much is held back until clients have stayed, and how long due diligence takes.
Leave your details and Andy will ring you with an indicative range for your practice, worked from these figures. We receive the totals and percentages only, never a client's name or fee. No buyer is contacted and nothing is published.
The analyser adds up and counts what is in your list: recurring fees, fee bands, your largest clients, client types, services, how long clients have stayed, when their accounts fall due, who looks after them and when their fees last went up. Clients marked as one-off are left out of the recurring total.
The changes are ranked by making each one to your own figures and working out what it does to what a buyer would pay. Raising small fees to your minimum assumes every one of those clients accepts. Some will leave instead, and a buyer would usually rather they left before the sale than after it.
No. The file is read by your own browser and the analysis is worked out there. Nothing is uploaded. If you ask for your range, we receive the totals and percentages shown in the summary, never a client's name or fee.
Only a fee for each client. Client type, services, the year they joined, their year end, who looks after them and when their fee last went up all add to the analysis, and you can match your own column names to them.
A range depends on things a client list cannot show, such as how your team and clients will take a sale and how the deal is structured. Andy gives you one on a twenty-minute call, worked from these figures, and nothing about your firm goes to any buyer unless you ask.
Twenty minutes on the phone. No documents, no NDA, no obligation — and the market hears nothing.
